Interview with VOA

Below is another discussion about Aesthetics of a Zebra, which I curated. It’s in Persian, but I talk about her transition from depicting more personal identity issues, especially as they relate to women, to wider social crises. Arkani’s work is humorous yet bitter, though her bitter criticism is anything but a moan– she looks deeply and disturbingly into individual positions and responsibilities as they encounter the tensions between modernity and tradition.
