Since September, Iranians have experienced a momentous, history-making, brutal and bloodied uprising, one that is brimming with hope, imagination, and progressive thought. It’s an inspiring movement with an inspiring slogan: Woman, Life, Freedom. But it is also devastating, and the crackdown has been unlike anything we’ve ever seen…as the excitement of September withered into a metaphorical and literal cold winter, with thousands of arrests and killings and an unyielding system, I started collecting little stories and observations of anything that was beautiful, positive, and human.
