LB Most important thing in your life?
TA Honesty.

LB Most favourite food dish?
TA I can have sashimi all day everyday, but a hearty Persian dish when I want to be decadent.

LB Pets?
TA The random visits from my neighbourhood black cat who is apparently called Dorothy but I’ve named her Gholam. Every other day though, it’s my husband.

LB First thing you do in the morning?
TA Morning kisses interrupted by snoozes. And then, if I’m not working out or doing yoga, I’m making coffee to start work.

LB Thing that annoys you most?
TA Chewing loudly.

LB You would rather never leave your house again than?
TA Be stuck in a bar with a bunch of blind-drunk City guys. But also, I like staying in too much.

LB Guilty pleasure?
TA Instagram. Dried fruit. Nights that never end.

LB What would you change about the world?
TA Everything, but I’d start with nationalism and racism.

LB What do you love about the world?
TA Kindness of strangers. Invasion of vine leaves on old walls. The silent gravity of mountains. People who try.

LB If life would end in 7 days, what would you do with your time left?
TA Put everyone I love on a plane and camp out by a lake somewhere near the mountains. (Possibly provide psychedelics as well)

LB If you could tell your younger self something, it would be?
TA Chill, it’s all changing anyway.

LB Dream job as a child?
TA Writer.

LB Something you’ll never forget?
TA Siesta time at my grandparents, when I would sneak out to the garden and play quietly, listening to birds chirp.

LB Something you don’t understand you wore as a child?
TA As a child I was pretty on point, it’s the spaghetti-strap tops of my teens that I resent. And the thin eyebrows, Augh.

LB Biggest icon?
TA I will add an s to make that plural, and say Foroogh Farrokhzad, Elena Ferrante, Chantal Akerman, Agnes Verda, Joan Didion, Abbas Kiarostami, Margaret Atwood, Hilma Af Klint, Jean-Luc Godard, Luis Bonuel, Aydin Aghdashloo. Sorry, I know.

LB Top3 bucket list?
TA Make a feature film, publish a book, go to space.

LB Afraid to?
TA Not be able to do the above.

LB Best feeling ever?
TA Being loved by your beloved. Full body deep tissue massage. Galloping in the wilderness, when the rhythm of your breath synchs with the horse’s.

LB Things you want to learn?
TA Riding motorcycles.
