Eating You | The Invisible Line Gallery
Been such a pleasure to curate this show at TIL. These four artists, (clockwise from top-left in photo) Robert Robinson, Afshin Naghouni, Katarina Glew, and Barbara Fragogna, are all immensely humble, versatile and talented.
I’ve known Afshin (Ash) as a friend and artist for a while and have been following his work. I think his latest series, and the pieces we are showing for the first time, are some of his best (! but really). Layered, beautiful, rhythmic — pictures don’t do them justice.
Barbara is just one of those artists who is truly immersed, and she courageously works across media. Her gory paintings and playful iterations make me happy and sad at the same time. I love the details in her work and her unabashedly rich palate.
Robert is a brilliant find, since he hasn’t been exhibited in many galleries yet. His collages are complete universes that cross over time and history to give you a glimpse of humanity and earth. You can stare at them forever.
And Katarina’s sculptures — heavy and light, terrifying and beautiful, they complete the show in their wholesome presence.
You can read more about it here, and if you’re in London, the show is on until July 5th.
